Chameleon Actor Advanced Acting Skills Training Workshop
Playing fun games, working on just speech and body movement don’t make one an actor. Open your eyes and mind to the ‘Chameleon’ approach. Be ready for an intensive, comprehensive 15 grueling days of training that’s must for any actor.
Vineet Kumar, Workshop Director
10 distinguished instructors. Personalized attention to all. Lots of improvisational exercises. And, take our word for that, there’ll be lots to take back home. This first-of-its-kind theatre workshop in Delhi is a must for you if you genuinely believe you have the actor factor in you.
Sunit Sinha and Manoj Bajpayee at the launch function on 7 Aug 2008. Cafe Turtle, Metropolitan Mall, Saket.
What is the ‘Chameleon’ approach? Actors are born with and live lives of various characters through tools like Voice, Body and Mind (Read nervous system). It is mandatory therefore to train and sharpen the same tools to explore and express the entire range of emotions. How good an actor is depends on how good a control he/she has over his/her internal and external tools, and how effortlessly the actor is able to use them.
Chameleons are gifted by nature, the power and skill to use their external and internal tools not just for their survival but also to satisfy their urgent emotional and physical needs.
We know that all chameleon species are able to change their skin color. But changing color is an expression of the physical and psychological condition of the lizard. Chameleons change their color in response to light exposure and ambient temperature, as well as to express their mood. Emotions and attraction of a mate can also induce the color change. And most importantly, as recent research indicates that chameleons often use color changes as a method of communication.
Our whole effort, through this workshop, will be to sharpen tools of participant actors that they are already equipped with, so that, in turn, they excel in their efforts to truthfully bring to life characters they choose to portray.
