Established in December 2006, Actor Factor Theatre Company (AFTC) is a space for independent artists who have chosen Theatre Arts as a medium to communicate with humankind at large. It is a 'private' theatre laboratory, where individual artists from various disciplines come together to form a collective intellectual force. They, thus, collaborate to hone their individual tools, explore and experiment- with form and content, in their single-minded effort to discover newer means to enrich the performer-audience relationship.
For almost half a century now, our predecessors have struggled to free Theatre not only from the confines of traditional performance spaces, but also from the prejudices of culture, nationality and race. The intent, thereby, has been to maximize Theatre's potential reach, and to demystify the art form for the common people. We, at AFTC, are driven to further strengthen this belief, and are perseveringly working for the cause of 'One World'.
Since its inception, AFTC has striven to produce plays for the Global Stage. Not surprisingly, India, as a nation with its multicultural fabric, has been a perfect testing-turf, as it throws a multitude of challenges in the way of live communication. Hitherto, to our compensation, we have received an overwhelming response to our stage-plays from time to time from the populace, and have successfully been able to build a loving audience base.
Our core philosophy – To: Explore, Engage & Enlighten (EEE) plays a critical role in the life of an AFTC artist, and also that of our audience. While knowing, researching, and challenging our own notions of human dilemmas - to tinkering with the means of effective communication - to the resultant big reciprocal from the targeted audience is of utmost significance, however, how it affects our individual audience-member's life in infinitesimal ways, and how it helps one question, and hence, accept or reject a certain notion of a larger sum has also been of paramount importance.
Actor Factor Theatre Company is a part of 'The Actor Factor Theatre Society', registered (S/59635/2007) under the Societies Registration Act 1860.
